Success Story: Finding Clarity and Confidence with Clarity at Work Ltd.

Starting a business often begins with an idea, but turning that idea into something sustainable requires focus, strategy, and support. For Theresa Lynn, founder of Clarity at Work Ltd., the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program (EDP) provided the coaching and accountability she needed to bring greater structure and clarity to her business.

Today, Theresa supports mid-sized organizations across Alberta and Saskatchewan with HR, strategy, and AI governance services. Through the EDP, she gained confidence in her business direction and developed a practical roadmap for moving forward.

Building Confidence Through Coaching

As part of the EDP, Theresa worked with Business Coach Brenda Kolasa, who helped her explore ideas, challenge assumptions, and stay focused on the decisions that mattered most.

Reflecting on her experience, Theresa says:

"The coaching gave me space to think out loud with someone who asked the right questions instead of handing me answers. The biggest shift was confidence. I came in second-guessing whether my ideas were strong enough to build a business around, and I left clear on my direction and willing to back myself."

The regular coaching sessions also provided a level of accountability that helped Theresa move from ideas to action.

"Having a regular, structured check-in also kept me accountable in a way I couldn't manage on my own, and Brenda was good at helping me separate the noise from the decisions that actually mattered."

Brenda saw Theresa's commitment to growth and continuous improvement throughout their work together.

"Theresa was an exceptional client to coach. She came to each session engaged, prepared, and ready to apply what we discussed. Her willingness to continually refine her strategy and make thoughtful business decisions allowed her to make giant leaps throughout the program. I believe she has built a strong foundation for a highly differentiated business, and I'm excited to see the impact she will have moving forward."

Turning a Loose Idea into Real Structure

One of the most significant outcomes of Theresa's participation in the program was gaining clarity about her business and the clients she is best positioned to serve.

"The program helped me turn a loose idea into something with real structure."

Through coaching, Theresa refined her market positioning, strengthened her messaging, and developed a practical plan for growth.

"My biggest takeaways were getting clarity on who I actually serve and how I'm different, tightening my messaging so it speaks to decision-makers rather than everyone, and building a practical plan I could act on rather than a document that sits in a drawer."

The process also helped her identify areas that needed attention.

"Working through the problem areas with an outside perspective also surfaced a few blind spots I'd been avoiding."

An Investment in Building the Business

Theresa described the coaching experience as a valuable investment. Something, her EDP Coordinator, Nancy Bownes from CF Central Alberta, was particularly pleased about:

"I love hearing from both coach and client that the EDP coaching experience was an enjoyable and rewarding challenge for both parties. I wish Theresa all the best and was happy to hear that 'the coaching was genuinely one of the best investments I made in building Clarity at Work.'"

When asked whether she would recommend the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program to others with a disability, long-term health condition, or neurodivergence who are considering entrepreneurship, Theresa's answer was clear:

Definitely.

Looking Ahead

With a stronger sense of direction, refined messaging, and a practical plan for growth, Theresa has built a solid foundation for the future of Clarity at Work Ltd.

The Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program is proud to have supported Theresa on her entrepreneurial journey and looks forward to following her continued success as she supports organizations across Alberta and Saskatchewan with HR, strategy, and AI governance services.
